Udawalawe National Park is famous for the large populations of wild elephants that live in the open grasslands and woodlands. The park is also home to more than 150 kinds of birds, crocodiles, and water buffalo, which makes for wonderful safaris. In a quiet area, it’s a terrific place to watch animals up close.
